Health Savings Accounts
To address the increasing cost of employee benefits, Moreton & Company has worked with contemporary laws to create consumer-driven healthcare programs.
We believe that making the consumer part of the process in paying for healthcare will stimulate competition in the healthcare community and will bring down cost.
There is evidence that consumer-driven healthcare plans work. Over the last five years, there was
- a 22% increase in costs for employee-paid healthcare, such as cosmetic surgery.
- a 90% increase in costs for services covered under employer-paid plans.
Clearly, consumers more carefully consider procedures when they are responsible for the costs.
By extending this principle to employee healthcare plans, this sharp increase in costs would be offset as companies encourage their employees to actively look for less expensive healthcare solutions.
